wps.american-soccer-news.com/?p=11Women’s Professional Soccer will today announce a deal with German shoe manufacturer and clothing retailer Puma, according to the Wall Street Journal. The three-year deal calls for Puma to pay roughly $10 million to become the official equipment supplier to WPS, the Journal says, citing people with knowledge of the agreement. That means that if players in the seven-team league don’t have existing deals with other cleat makers, they will wear Pumas during WPS games. It is the first of three deals the league hopes to announce before the season kicks off in April.

Puma did have the best uniforms at the World Cup two years ago. I'll be interested to see what they come up with for their official match ball.

Marta is pictured holding up the new LA Sol jersey on the WPS website. It looks like Puma is going back to using embroidered logos and team crests on their jerseys instead of that icky polyflex stuff, which is good. Now if these teams can just get sponsors on their jerseys too, it'll be perfect.

The new WPS jerseys on display during the WPS draft are really... blah!

The jerseys were sort of bland, but I'm hoping the schwag I can wear looks a lot better.

I'd say some bumblebee-striped socks are looking pretty good right now.

Love Puma, I have a lot of their new gear and they're top quality. That's a great choice.
