Hey, we're having a party to announce our foundation and meet Red Stars defender and Olympic Gold Medalist Kate Markgraf. Please join me, Kate and Red Stars GM Marcia McDermott at the Chicago Red Stars Charitable Foundation's inaugural event at The Underground, 56 West Illinois Street, after work on Tuesday, October 28. The event starts at 5:30 pm and includes three drink tickets. Rumor has it, The Underground is going to debut a "Red Stars Martini" that night!!! There are a limited number of tickets (about 100), so order your tickets soon through PayPal ($65 each with proceeds benefiting our foundation). The link is on the event's info page here: www.womensprosoccer.com/newsitem_ektid5694.aspx?team=chicago

I received this response from an invitee:
"I am disappointed, that yet again you have chosen a downtown location for a Red Stars outing. Considering, your home will be on the south side, aka Bridgeview, it might be nice if you actually had an outing somewhere in the general neighborhood.
Last time I checked, we "soccer mom's" dominated the suburbs.
Just a thought."
Shows some of the mentality we're facing.
FWIW, here's my response:
"Thanks for your note. I agree that it's important to hold events in the suburbs. I am disappointed by the negative tone of your message and am sorry that you have not noticed that we have actually hosted/participated in many more events in the suburbs so far than in the city:
US vs. Brazil match at GameWorks in Schaumburg, Kate Markgraff meet and greet in Naperville, Carli Lloyd and Lindsay Tarpley meet and greet in St. Charles, IYSA town hall in Schaumburg, two day long sessions with IWSL coaches in Schaumburg and half a dozen tailgates for Red Stars fans in Bridgeview at Fire and USA games.
While I agree in the importance of the suburban fan base, I believe it would be wrong of us to ignore the city. I am sorry that you apparently disagree.
Best Regards,
peter"
I left out several other points/comments that I could've made. Anyone else care to formulate a response?

You're response is much nicer than anything I would've written.
Me and Erich will be at your lovely event in the City for us younger city folk who have purchased season tickets and will be spending my hard earned disposable income on the Red Stars and the Charity.
