Understanding WPS sometimes seems to be as hard as understanding MLS. It seems that those teams who got more of what they wanted in the USWNT allocation process get lower priority in the international draft, which is scheduled for next week. The explanation on the WPS site is rather fuzzy about the details. It's be nice if WPS had a more transparent process fans could understand and connect with, instead of being like a papal succession. Anyway, I'm still hoping we get England's Kelly Smith.

I'm pleased with the draft. I was disappointed we didn't get Kelly Smith, but Cristiane is an amazing talent and Karen Carney a superb long-term prospect at forward. And we have a goalie. Good stuff.

All good players, but worthless if we don't sign them. Now the fun begins!

All good players, but worthless if we don't sign them. Now the fun begins! Would it help if we sent them goodie bags with Chicago flags, lolipops and post-it notes? I would organize that if you think it would help. That would make me sign with the Red Stars!
