Right then.
I'm assuming that our tailgate will serve as a focal point for general public to mix and mingle and Local 134 will merely provide the ability to "grill what ya brung". If we're going to tailgate like that, we need some grills (including charcoal, lighter fluid, tongs and long forks, etc.) and some folding tables (with tablecloths) at the least. We might also want to provide water on hot days. If we do, that involves ice and coolers.
Other possible items to provide are paper plates, plastic knives and forks, plastic cups, napkins, handywipes. Providing much beyond that will quickly get quite expensive, depending on the attendance at the tailgate which, of course, will vary greatly with the weather.
Getting a flag and flag pole would also probably be a good idea so people know where to find us.
If we have Local 134 merchandise, we'd need a table and cashbox (with change) separate from the food area.
Anything more elaborate than will probably involve a talk with our FO liason, whoever that is, to learn what we can or cannot do. I assume we do not want to sell anything edible or potable, especially beer.
It's hard to tell when people will start arriving for Red Stars games, given the crappy weather we've so far. Barnburner tailgates back in the day typically started between 2 to 2 1/2 hours before kickoff which meant that whoever was setting up the tailgate had to get there a bit before then to get ready.
Then there is the tailgate location. The idea of having it near the trailer has been floated. Section 8, in contrast, tailgates in the north parking lot by the northwest gate. I'm open to suggestions.
So, who here besides me has a grill? I've got your traditional big ol' Weber-style charcoal grill.
Who is willing to help get this off the ground?
